GUNS: The Spencer Book by J.A. Huss

Getting just a taste of Spencer and Ronnie AKA “Bomb” in the prequel to this story I was SUPER excited to get more..just when the author hooked me in..the words THE END/TBC slapped me right in the fucking face..grrr

Spencer puts on a show of detached bliss..man-whoring ways and right when you think this guy is awful..it all falls into place and makes perfectly fucked up sense!  Ronnie doesn’t know why she is getting the cold-shoulder from the one man that she has loved since she first laid eyes on him.  All she knows is he is being a dick and has dates with other women.

The team has to get through one more “heist” one more all for one..one for all moment and then they can start their “real lives”.  They can safely live in the open and love who they love without the constant glancing over the shoulders all of them have come to expect.

The “team” has never included Veronica and Spencer has his reasons for that.  But seeing Ford and Ronin happy and fulfilled leaves an ache in his heart that only his Bomb can fill…players are set…lines are drawn and the shootout for dominance commences…which team will come out on top and is the future he has wanted all along be his to live?  Read the damn book and find out…I loved it.

I have yet to read the Rook and Ronin series (I know I know..what am I waiting for) but my point is you don’t have to in order to feel you know all the pawns and players in the game…I do recommend reading Ford’s books and Spencer’s first book..that will help but the author does a great job of keeping you updated without bogging you down with too much un-needed info.

My favorite part? Epilogue Part Two…it was like the “muppet baby team” and it had me laughing out loud and seeing a future series in the making…

Because of Kian by Sibylla Matilde

Being a fan of this author I was excited to read all about Kian. From the blurb alone I was hooked..The book starts with a blood infused bang, knowing that the lead female is coming out of a violent past you can’t help but dive in and hope for the best.
The relationship starts out from afar..he notices her..he protects her..and she has no idea.  Until the night that his inkling becomes reality and their lives are forever connected.  A need to not only protect her but help her be stronger and not feel victimized sets the stage for rolling around on the floor together…yeah baby!

Violence is a thin line in this story..a need to feel..a push too strong..a feeling of guilt, of being the catalyst that created the monster before her..not being able to distinguish what she desires and what has become of her life.  The soft touch of a kind man, being “tarnished” not feeling “good enough” are the thoughts of a broken woman.  Can she be put back together? Can a good man feed her need?
Because of Kian..the answer is YES

I enjoyed this story so much..the connection..the hot sex..the description of Kian and his girth..they all worked for me.  The first person point of view is my personal favorite and keeps me more invested in the characters so thanks Sib!! Loved it and recommend it to readers that enjoy watching broken people find their way through each other..

Play by Kylie Scott

I loved Lick! That being said I wasn't sure if I would care as much about anyone else in the band?  Mal changed that tune and I fell hard for him as well! From the first darkened meeting to the text fests that made me laugh out loud..
These two met and instantly formed a team, a needed unit to face their fears and uncertainties that seemed to appear out of nowhere. Instant love, not really but instant connection? Definitely..

Mal was always the fun one..the one that lived life to the fullest and had a solid upbringing that was his foundation.  When that foundation became weakened so did his whole outlook, knowing that life is too short to not go after what you want was not an option.

You meet Anne on an especially crappy day..her “friend/roommate” that owed her money for multiple months of rent up and left..with everything! An invite to a party..a drunken proposal and coming home to furniture and a new roommate.  Unrequited love, always the responsible one that was there for her people..but who was there for her? Could she stop worrying about everyone else and just have some fun? If anyone can break into that shell, it was Mal..he was just what the Dr. ordered!

Loved the banter, friendship and the sex was pretty damn good too..can’t ask for much more! And we get to hear about my David..WIN FUCKING WIN..together these two kids just made more sense..
