Sweet Temptation by K.C. Lynn

You know that feeling when you finish a book and you have a slight tug in the heart, an empty feeling in your stomach, Kleenex in hand, and a smile on your face? Well Sweet Temptation is a book that did all of that and more…

Having read KC Lynn’s debut novel Fighting Temptation and loving it, I set the scene of stalker on author early.  Sawyer was a cocky, man-whore that you couldn’t help but fall in love with so the fact that the next story was his…um yeah, stalking happened!

In my opinion Ms. Lynn is only getting better, this book took the sweet, innocent girl and the dirty talking, bad boy and had you fall for each of them separately and deeply.  I am not a fan of weak women, Grace was quiet but strong, never owning her space until she needed to protect what she felt needed protecting.  When she defended Sawyer with his dad…true love baby…Sawyer was an idiot at times (kindle tossing did happen) but in the end his heart was what led him to his cupcake…

Heart, family, bonds, friendships, and an undying love and connection were found between people that didn’t know they needed each other in order to exist…fucking swoon! This book has everything I need in order to give it a 5 star stamp of approval and let’s just say a restraining order may be in my close future for Cade’s book…

Brawler by KS Adkins

You know you got yourself a great fucking book when it starts off with lyrics from MC Breed & DFC, Ain’t No Future in Yo Frontin…can’t go wrong!

Book two is set around Rafe (Jonas) and Macy, these are the besties of V and Rogan, so you are able to keep tabs on these two as well.  I loved Brutal but this book wrapped around my heart just a little tighter!  Rafe was a gentle giant with foot to mouth disease, every time he opened his mouth he inserted his foot..  Not one that is use to communicating and filtering his thoughts he spent most of the story trying to beg for forgiveness and feign stupidity.  With his only real friend a man that usually grunts rather than speak, turning into a regular Dr. Fucking Phil type…You have to get with the program!

Macy and Rafe slowly and with TONS of road blocks find their way to each other, and every time I settle into “finally” Rafe opens his dumb ass mouth and my “finally” turns into a quick “REALLY?” Even with the word vomit that escapes his mouth I was so taken with him, his heart is bigger than his mistakes and you can’t go wrong with a man like that! Protective, demanding, loyal but lacking a sense of self worth made you want to wrap him up, swaddle him and protect him from himself.

Macy is tough, she is not as brute force tough as V, her strength is more of quiet one, just as strong, possibly even stronger.  Her need to protect the ones she loves runs deep and tends to get her into more trouble than she sets out for.  Finding her way out of the guilt haze she has lived in and slowly realizing her worth and future in the man of her dreams kept me hooked from first punch to the face…and the way she man-handled whores? Um that was fucking hot as well! Ladyboner… #girlcrushing

Both of these people were raised to believe the worst in themselves, together they realized their full potential and it was an amazing journey to be a part of. Finding a book that keeps you involved and invested is what this all about and Brawler does just that...This author has a way of keeping the banter flowing, has you laughing out loud, butterflies in the stomach waiting for firsts, anxious knots when I knew shit was going down, and she actually had my eyes well up with tears at one point.  Kudos to you friend, and as always keep that shit up!

The Infamous Ellen James by N.A. Alcorn

I am not one to recommend a book…I am always a little worried they may not like it and a LOT worried that if they don’t I just can’t be friends with them anymore…this book, this book right here makes me want to scream from the roof-tops “read this fucking book” and if you don’t like it…lose my number cuz we can’t be friends!

I loved everything about this story…the humor, the friendship, the heart-ache and the doctor! Humor is my Achilles heal, my list of who I would leave my hubs for (if given a chance) reads like a comedy scene..Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Ryan Reynolds, Justin Timberlake and Channing (last two also for dance moves) so the comedy, one-liners and sarcastic wit in this book had me spit diet coke, choke on a bagel and laugh so loudly I scared the shit out of my 8 year old…there should be a fucking warning label!  WAIT..there is a warning.." Warning: This novel contains explicit sex, profanity and far too much vaginal humor. This novel is not meant for anti-fornicators, up-tight prudes, or virgins who refuse to go to Pound Town" Fucking LOVE IT..back to regularly scheduled review..

If being honest parts of this book could have come straight from conversations I have had with Tara, so the narcissistic personality in me was straight swooning! WV 2014!!

Between the harlem shake scene, the initial slide-show picture meet and the masturbating blocking was also heart, soul, love, bonds and friendships that stand the test of time and tequila!  If you have a sense of humor, dabble or master in sarcasm, and like to end your day with a Happy Ending you will love this book…it stands proudly on my favorites shelf and I CAN’T wait to read about Amy, have a feeling I may even love her more!

Unfixable by Tessa Bailey

A sure fire way to have me read a book is title it Unfixable…I love me some broken people…challenge accepted and the other definite read part of this book is it’s author…Tessa Bailey writes a book, I read it! No questions asked, no hesitation, she is one of the few authors I deem auto-buy certified!

You meet Willa as she embarks on a journey to not only find herself but to prove that life won’t always be all that she has known.  She had a wonderful boyfriend, he treated her perfect, and there in lies the problem.  She was anything but…Never good enough for herself, she couldn’t fathom being what he saw or wanted to see staring back at him.

Ready to distance herself from the pain she has caused, a past she can't shake, an opportunity of a life-time is won…and little does she know her life will never be the same..Shane is taken by Willa the instant he lays eyes on her, fighting it or succumbing to it is the question of the moment, but once the scene is set…there are no options!

Embarrassing moment #1,890,365 in my 40 year span occurred whilst reading this book…I connected with everyone right away and had this little inkling of deja-vu/recognition in the back story of Willa but not until about 40% did my dumb ass realize that this is Ginger’s sister!  Yes, that Ginger and Derek from Protecting What's His, they were mentioned lots of times, even specific situations that I was privy to having read book one…but did I connect the dots? NOOOOO…they say admitting these facts make you less embarrassed, not so sure that’s true.

Tessa does not disappoint in this story of two fragile, broken souls finding their home through each other.  I recommend it and if you haven’t read her Line of Duty series you are seriously missing out!

Vital Sign by J.l. Mac

Can we find the love of our lives twice? Once you give your heart to someone does it remember? This story for me was about going down the path we are put on and enduring the twists and turns and somehow getting to the destination we never knew we’re meant to meet…

Pain, heartache and an insurmountable amount of “why me” is how Sadie has existed in her world for the last two years.  Not living…not experiencing life…not even grieving over the loss of her husband and future she had thought she would be living out.  Rude words spoken, sleeping through the day, Sadie had somehow become a place card in her own world. Her family decided that she needed to embark on a journey to honor her husband’s final gift of life…little did she know she was about to find her heart again…

Zander…never quite enough for his parents…fighting against the grain and social lines his family lived within, as he maneuvered his way through everyday…a life changing diagnosis and the reason for his existence behind it all…

This book had my emotions in a choke hold but not for the actual loss that Sadie endured, it was more for the perseverance she displayed in finding the strength to live.  Finding the permission in a message from beyond to grab hold and jump…take her place back in the heart that had and will always belong to her..

I loved this book and the author did an amazing job of making you feel invested and take time to pause and think...does the heart remember?

Throttle Me by Chelle Bliss

I know I have said lots of things about what I like…hot alpha males…fighters…CEO’s…but did I mention I love tattoo artists? If you are a tattoo artist you are trust-worthy, bold and confident…placing an image on another person that they will live with the rest of their lives…gots to be good people to do that and City is just that…and he’s hot so there’s that too! I don’t know why…but that is so fucking hot to me!

City is just living life, fucking random chicks when he needs to fulfill a need, until one night a “good girl” stranded and all he has known flies off the back of his “hog”… Helping is who he is…not thinking anything of it…but then eyes meet and he knows nothing about this is going to be temporary, his life just flipped. Hiding his heart may no longer be an option.

Suzy…down on her luck…not looking for anything in particular, except the white colored man, picket fence and 2.5 kids.  Hard-bodied, inked and rides a Harley…hardly seems to fit the bill…or was she looking for the wrong thing in the right guy?  Fighting this attraction and need to be on one path was going to be a struggle, because the wrong package feels so right!

Tearing down pre-conceived notions of what life should look like and what good for you actually is..Chelle did an amazing job at making you feel both City and Suzy’s worries and wants with the POV’s and being in both of their heads helps you connect to the story and their lives. And girl you can write some hot, growling sex scenes so keep that shit up!

Can’t wait to get more Inked boys and to hear through the other’s stories more on Suzy and City!

Reasonable Doubt by Whitney Gracia Williams

A lawyer that doesn’t like to be lied too? Is this a real thing? It is in the case of Andrew AKA Thoreau…finds women online for a quick fuck, but gets upset if they use a fake name? Having no friends, especially ones with titts that he doesn’t have a sexual relationship with..until “Alyssa”.

He is quickly taken by her questions, her snappy wit and comebacks and after screening her slightly considers her a friend.  Not being one to trust he is always making sure that she knows he has ZERO tolerance for liars and can’t have them in his life.

Looking forward to their online banter, and phone calls Andrew decides he needs more.  He wants to meet Alyssa and possibly take this to another level.  She is quick to throw his one night stand rule in his face…not wanting to ruin the friendship they have developed.

An interview…a ringing phone…confidences broken…but who broke them first?  Did I get my answers…NO…I got The. Fucking. End! Andrew is a dirty talking…take the woman by the hair, stick his aching dick in her kinda asshole that I fell head over heels in love with…I NEED BOOK TWO, LIKE NOW..PLEASE!!
