The Consequences of Sin by K.A. Robinson

A trained killer stands 5 foot nothing and has boobs? Yeah that’s what I’m talking about. A bad ass female, and two hot guys are the center of this story. When I first started this book I didn’t know much about it, they start by the two leads stalking through the alley ways in the middle of the night on a mission…and you later find that these trained killers are brought to you by her father. At eighteen she has never known the love of a parent, and the only constant in her life is her best friend and partner in execution Wes. You feel their connection right away, and know it is more than friendship for one of them. A decision made, an exit plan, but the past always has a way of catching up to you.

Quickly the landscape changes and lives are fused together through fate, or an ad in a coffee shop, whatever you believe in. A new life, fresh start, new hot roommate, but can you run from your fate? The evil that raised you has a way of always finding you…and finishing what was started. Lives are changed, decisions are made, and lives are lost all for the promise made by one.  Can you really start over or are the consequences of your sins the cross you always have to bare?

"I want to wake up with you next to me every day. I want to laugh at you when you get angry and your accent is even stronger. I want to watch you try to cook even though you have no idea what you're doing. I want to know that you'll grow to love me as much as I love you one day."

Great story with hot sex, thrilling chases, hot guys, a life no one would wish on their worst enemy and a friend that can make or break you.

Throb by Vi Keeland

Oh my God…oh my God…two of my favorite things combined into one story. Reality T.V. and romance books…aaahhhhh, in all seriousness I am not a fan of the Bachelor…but Brett Michaels on a Love Bus with a bunch of broads HELL YES! Housewives that have nothing better to do than get injections, drink and talk shit? Sign me up!

I am such an uber fan of this author, she can write any genre and have me hook, line and sinker within a prologue, and this new series was no different. Loved the catch…the meet…the dilemma…the connection and the angst of what couldn’t be even while it was already there!

Liking Flynn didn’t help the case…but he’s sweet and caught in the middle of something he doesn’t even realize is occurring…I’m excited that we will get more of him. It’s hard when you’ve got a love triangle (ish) happening and you there is likability in the one you know isn’t going to have the coveted prize at the end of the day…or will he?

Connor and Kate are the perfect example of finding what you have always been looking for at the most inopportune time, and finding a way to make what is yours…stay!  Will luck be on their side? Enter angst....and swoooonnnnn..loved it!

A Father's Fight by J.B. Salsbury

Blake and Mouse have not had an easy road to their happily ever after. They are finally cruising along, baby coming, daughter doing great when the past comes and puts a huge obstacle in their path. Not just one of them, but both of them have to deal with the past that created who they are today, and forgive the monsters that have held them for so long.

Loving this series and every book that has come from it, I was SO excited to get my hands on this glimpse into all of their lives again. Blake and his possessive ways crack me up, when Layla’s regular doctor is not available for an OB appt and he freaks out and scares the young male doctor that enters the room, into retreating and having a female nurse take it from there. LOVE it, it’s that kind of male that screams DAWN READ ME!

Watching them become a family, including the daughter of his heart and knowing that Blake’s life is now looking at him from three different sets of eyes, sent me into an emotional tailspin, even tearing me up! I know…right? This series has a way of stripping down to the heart of each of it’s leads and leaving you totally engaged, invested and in love.  I hope there is more…I will be anxiously waiting!

Kick by Carmen Jenner

This was one of those books where you let out a WOW after you have finished...there was a lot that happened in a span of a couple of hundred pages. Sometimes reading between my fingers because my hands were covering my eyes. But there is always something about a damaged man, but a completely stripped down biker with a conscience (of sorts) that has him protecting damaged women...it can bring you to your knees.

Kick is not an easy read, no butterflies and rainbows in this tale. But a love all the same, finding strength in someone that is completely stripped of everything changes a person, this story personifies that.

Blood, guts, vengeance and situations that can make anyone a tad bit squeamish, but at the end of it all...whether you perceive them as victim, captor, evil or soul-mates...the heart wants what it wants and when the dust settles, blood dries and images slightly fade the one person you can't live without; will not only be there, but will keep you standing strong.

Thrown To The Wolves by Rochelle Paige

How many ways can I say I love this series? Here is the third version of it, but this one has Parker and I lurved him HARD. Parker is like any other hot blooded shifter, possessive, loyal, demanding, but he has a layer of love that shines from him that completely had me and I fell hard. He loves his family, his pack and his soul mate, even before ever meeting her. Just knowing that she is being treated poorly by her family causes him pain, and when they finally do meet...it's like BOOOMMMMM..

Annora has had it rough...never fitting in...never getting the kind of love from her father that she sees all the other girls receiving...just not being enough...on her 18th birthday she is aware of why she has always felt like this. Lies, cover-ups and a TERRIBLE dad lead up to a betrayal that no child should ever know. How she gets out of the situation is pretty bad ass, so I fell in love with her at that moment. A chance meeting, a journey and her life finds her.

The tale of growing up not knowing love or family, to be overwhelmed by it...might be my fav so far...

Falling Away by Penelope Douglas

I am going to start this review by saying I love this series. From Bully to each next installment, they just keep getting better and better. This one I wasn’t overly excited to read, for the mere fact that KC was unlikable for me in past books. Jax intrigued me, I knew I wanted to know more about him, but I couldn’t wrap my head around him wanting KC.

When an author can take a character that I not only don’t care much about, but have actively disliked in past stories and make me care…deeply, you know this is an amazing author. That is exactly what Ms. Douglas did, she took someone from enemy to wanting to protect and see only good things for her.

Jax and KC’s story was not an easy one, filled with self doubt, angst and two souls that have had to learn to accept themselves for who they are and where they came from. Watching KC find her way, her strength and acceptance within her new family was a journey that will always stay with me. And as for Jax well he was hot, in control and did I mention hot? One of my favorite in this series and for all those non-KC fans, give it a shot, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Can’t wait for more…even though the glimpse into what may come looks like it might cut like a knife, I know if any author can pull it off, it’s this one!

Beautifully Insightful by K.C. Lynn

Beautifully Insightful was just that beautiful…being a fan of Ms. Lynn I was excited to be amongst the FIRST to read this newest endeavor. Having broken away from the comfort of her Men of Honor series embarking on an unfamiliar journey with brand new characters. She absolutely got it…a girl with an image to uphold at all costs…a boy with a rep and between them a love that couldn’t be denied or bribed away.  Social statuses aside a love no one-saw coming became bigger than both of them ever could imagine…

Years pass…feelings don’t…when a case arises the past comes full circle and what comes knocking at the door is a sight to behold!  These two have only known the love of each other…even with the distance that was placed between them nothing ever took away the pain and love that each felt for the other.

KC Lynn has a way of weaving a story between two characters that leaves you completely immersed in their story while all the time knowing a threat still looms and a mystery is unraveling. The complete domination of the male and sweet strength of her females keep you glued to their romance…wanting…waiting and swooning.  Challenges arise…memories are made and realized, while all along a love that had to take a pause intensifies and grows amongst the chaos around them. Loved it..

8 Mile & Rion by K.S. Adkins

Second chances…everyone deserves them? Growing up that is all Junior knew, if someone came in and had it rough her dad didn’t even blink he gave them a shot. Never needing more than the words to back up the claim. That transferred onto Junior…seeing someone in need made her stake her claim. A family of misfits so to speak, the one that don’t fit in the mold society so tightly upholds. A life she was proud of…but when the patriarch falls the pieces he leaves behind may be too much for her to put back.

Rion grew up knowing she was loved…placing bets, collecting and growing up on the streets of Detroit’s 8 mile is not the usual for a beautiful young girl, but this isn’t your typical girl. As always KS Adkins writes a tough, sassy, can hold her own female (like someone else I know) that doesn’t take shit from anyone. Her kind of fun involves guns, gambling and fucking shit up. After her dad passes she takes over the bookie business and finds it all wasn’t as it seemed and she had been protected into debt. Starting with the first collection she is broadsided by a beast of a man, the poster child of needing a second chance, little did Rion know that this second chance was her first and only.

Beautiful love story, as only Ms. Adkins can deliver. Taking a hero that has only known the worst about himself and shining a light on what makes him the absolute best for Rion. The journey to being able to get past their own flaws and insecurities and find a way to embrace the life that has been gifted his second chance was an amazing transformation to witness. Their love story is not conventional, not easily come by but when they finally get beyond the bumps in the road the future looks stunning…yeah?

Debt by Nina G. Jones

Retaliation, an eye for an eye, making sure everyone involved suffers, a debt that must be paid in full. This is the way Tax and Jude have lived their lives, never being from the right place, born into a situation they had no control over, when you have no choices but to survive you decide retribution is the only way to win back the upper hand.

Knowing that there is something missing in the debt that Tax is seeking to avenge, you go along with the story finding that their fucked-up-ness is somehow strangely beautiful. This is not a fairytale of the regular kind, no fair maiden or prince charming here…instead you find a woman that hasn’t found her true self, and the darkest prince…together these two can help each other find not only love for each other but forgiveness and redemption.

Lines are crossed, not knowing anymore what is good, bad, hideous or painstakingly deserved.  As a reader you are inclined to believe the man should be romantic, you may need to re-define your perception with Tax…he is a bossy, arrogant, possessive, completely broken, hell bent on making those that hurt is family pay with everything. But at the end of the day…a relationship that began innocently many years ago is the heart of who HE is.

You know what happened is coming, with trips back to 14 years prior but nothing can prepare for what two kids from the “wrong side” of the tracks have to endure…no covering your eyes for this one…and after it’s all said and done, you relieve the victims of the crimes they committed seeking justice. One by one they fall…

Loved this book…the writing, being able to make something so wrong…somehow feel right to the characters…and a love that is so completely raw it consumes them and you.

Shoot For The Moon (Black River Pack #2) by Rochelle Paige

This book is different in the sense that you know they are mates...finding out during book one, there is no doubt that these two are bound to be...but the road to get there? It's paved with hot bodied sex, possessiveness, alpha instincts that make all us ladies squeeze our thighs and thank the heavens above for the written word done right.

Loving this series has been easy for me, Ms. Paige has nailed the short, yet still able to connect with characters stories that have me anxiously awaiting the next installment. This is not an easy task...shorter isn't always better (or is it ever??) You get the connection, background, and feelings from each character without being bogged down with too many details...just enough to keep you right in the "know".

Spencer and Eliza were meant to be, but sometimes when you are closed to the idea you can't see what is right in front of your DAMN face...sigh...Spencer! He more than makes up for it, and proves what we all knew from the start, these two were inevitable! Can't wait for book 3!

Rush by Stevie J. Cole

There are some things that are just known…like rituals of life that take place…no rhyme or reason you can take them for granted and just go through the motions…those things. Like the fact that Stevie J. Cole can write…not just write but connect you to douchebags that you wonder how you fell in love with…at the end you are swooning and cheering on drug addicted, womanizing ass munches because…well because she intertwines them into your heart and you just accept it none the wiser.

That is what happened not only with Jag but with Rush…my personal favorite. You meet him winding down from a romp, but this romp is different…this one he likes, wants more with, but she is the one girl that just can’t be that simple. Watching these two not only grow and mature, but being able to see past the façade of fame and look straight into the heart of a man, through the love of a good woman. I loved it…from the crazy ass backstage antics to the stolen looks, the meant to be’s were just waiting for the right time to just be.

Reality looks different on stage in front of thousands and is really a far cry when you move backstage. But when you see who you want to be staring back at you…the lifestyle that once held so much seems hollow, following this journey of growth was amazing…and really who doesn’t love a self absorbed rock-star? Love em’
