Incinerate by Tessa Teevan

Let's be honest I was a goner with the cover!  If this is Knox..I say hell yeah! What is inside the pages though..that is what really sells you on him! Fell fast and fell hard for my damaged soldier..mmmm

Having read and loved Ignite I was eagerly awaiting the release of Tessa's newest damaged boy, and this book did not disappoint.  Knox is back from an awful experience during his deployment.  Even though his job was with explosives, having survived this long he had a "I can survive anything" mentality.  Until surviving was barely an option.

His last moments were filled with "I have no one" and that didn't fulfill him as it had in the past.  A past filled with broken trust from people that he should never have to doubt.  Closest to him, were the last ones he wanted anywhere near him.

A night at a bar, a face he can't shake and a knock on the door of fate..in walks Charlie!  She isn't immune to the "happily ever after" jumping up and kicking in you in the face.  Two people who couldn't trust any less, in a position to try.  To open up and see what a future could look like with the right one.

Loved this story, the friendship between Knox and Jace, the strong bonds that make a family and what can happen when you finally let go of all that has held you back.  Highly recommend and you don't have to read Ignite first but I loved that one too..

Arc Review of Until Trevor by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Hello..my name is Dawn and I am addicted to the Mayson brothers.  I don’t care which one..I love them all!  I don’t want a remedy, I am happy reading about anything and everything Mayson and hope they have lots of children and cousins so that I can continue my addiction.  I haven’t been so impatient about a book and giddy for it’s release in a long time and I am so happy that it delivered!

With that confession out of the way..let me tell you Aurora Rose Reynolds can write.  She can weave a perfect story with the alpha male being his loyal, possessive, and growling self.  In otherwords..perfection!  When I am reading her books, time stands still and it doesn’t seem like 3 hours have passed and I am sadly done with the story.

I fell in love with my first Mayson his name was Asher, I wouldn’t say he was replaced by Trevor but he wasn’t compared to him either.  Trevor was similar in some ways but his own man in all the aspects that count.  The Mayson men have known that they live their life alone and without strings attached, UNTIL “it” happens..the BOOM that seals the fate of the future for both parties involved.

Now Liz was no shrinking violet, another thing I appreciate with Ms. Reynolds stories, she not only writes a killer alpha but a strong and independent woman.  Liz has run into hard times and has to sacrifice part of herself to make ends meet.  Trevor has tried to stay away from Liz thinking that she is too innocent and pure to put up with his whore ways.  But time after time Trevor is reminded that she is his “boom” and a future without her is not something he wants to live.

I loved this book.  From Trevor’s possessive “you are mine” attitude to his “I will have babies with you” mentality.  Knowing what you want and going after it with reckless abandonment..it is the way every person wants and deserves to be loved!

Stalking has begun with little small excerpt from the next book..I am coming after ya Ms. Reynolds..warning warning!

Until You (Fall Away 1.5) By Penelope Douglas

I read Bully the book one in the Fall Away series this last summer.  It was a freebie that I grabbed without much thought.  Saw it was free..one clicked like the addict I am.  Then I started to hear a buzz on GR about it..not being one that can sit idly by whilst everyone else is buzzing, I cracked open my free book.  Well, three hours later I was finished..and I LOVED IT..

This was the first book boy that I hated, like deep down hatred filled me and even though I knew there was more to his story than met the eye.  Knowing that Jared was broken and had suffered wasn’t enough at that point..  I just kept reading knowing that Tate was going to find the reason and their love/hate relationship would turn to love only..  Going from complete despise to head over heels in love in about a chapter left me not only tormented but wanting..no needing more of this story.

Then came news of a companion novel in Jared’s POV..  Yippee Ki A Mutha Fucker..I may have actually screamed that.  And this book delivered.  I would say I enjoyed it even more than the first, but I still feel reading Bully first is the right move.  Being in Jared’s thoughts was mesmerizing and made me feel every emotion he did without pity, just love and respect for his strength.

Both Tate and Jared had to live with the after effects that Jared’s fear, otherwise known as bullying did to not only Tate but their relationship.  Trust is a hard earned trait and one that Jared works everyday for through his actions and words to erase the previous ones.  I recommend this series to anyone that likes a good book..  The characters are young, but having both lived through loss and heartache, they come across mature and not annoying..

Last Hit by Jessica Clare & Jen Frederick

This book came to me when I most needed it, in just the same way the characters timing was perfect..it was such a different premise than what I have been reading.  Last Hit is a love story about damaged souls that were destined to meet to heal.  I believe this with all I am..the stories they lived prior to meeting led them to each other in the exact time they needed to be united..sounds corny?  Well that is my story and I am sticking to it..

Nikolai was born a killer..he had not asked to be such he just was.  He was a skilled marksman but what he had that made him weak was empathy..why does that make you weak?  He had to prove to himself that his mark deserved to die, that this world would be a better place without this human gracing it..  This being a character attribute helps seal his place in the reader's heart.  He is not ONLY a cold blooded killer, he has a heart even if there are many holes..

Daisy's heart has been crushed..losing her mother at an early age due to a random act of violence, sealed her fate.  A threat was made and not only had she lost her mother but her father at that moment as well..  Locked doors, no computer, no school, no life and a twenty one year old young woman who didn't know how to live..  Fear had taken over where love had once lived and her father was petrified of everything..  She planned her escape while still taking care of her responsibilities.. She was just a good girl with a hole in her heart as well..even if the circumstances were different..

A mark watched, a love found and a man that needed to feel the love that only one woman could completely give to him..  This story was not only of love, but forgiveness, healing and how the power of unconditional love can repair the most hardened of hearts..even a trained killers..  I loved this book and recommend it to readers of not only NA but thrillers and darkened romances..  Thank you to the authors for allowing us an early copy of Last Hit..

Arc Review of Remember When 3 by T. Torrest

Remember When 3 (Remember Trilogy, #3)Remember When 3 by T. Torrest
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 I Heart Trip W. Stars

I was desperate for this book. So much so that I may have bartered one or all of my four kids! She has 2 of her own and turned my deal down, but still allowed me the honor of reading the finale in this wonderful, heartfelt trilogy.

       photo tumblr_m31lbabeVl1rqnrc8o1_500_zps9ab3b0cb.jpg

Trip and Layla's journey began in Book One Remember When, taking place in the late 80's early 90's totally spoke to me. That is my time. Class of 1991, baby! When your theme songs were Ice Ice Baby and Paradise City. When music videos were still on MTV and know one knew what reality TV was. Note passing was how we told our friends we liked people, prior to texting, social networking and when a book read was paper only! Thank the heavens above for the Kindle..technology, aahhhh!

So being from the era and understanding not only the references but the feel of the situation just called to me. Book three starts with how Trip took Layla not showing up at the hotel. Let's just say it didn't go over well. A decision for a clean break was made and a life of regret, alcohol and bad choices followed. Fast forward years and you find Trip and Layla connecting and putting together the pieces that were skewed for so long. Is it enough for the future both of them have always dreamed of? The love that was found so many years ago in a "shabby, turquoise tent." The "Hollywood" life that Trip now led is not the easiest to navigate and compromise is a needed attribute. Not ever being the best at communicating, Layla and Trip are trying to find their HEA.

I love this series..the whole damn thing and I want to thank T. Torrest again for gifting me the arc. I will miss the whole gang and the lifetime connection they had.

ARC Review of Forever, Jack by Natasha Boyd

Forever, Jack (Eversea, #2)Forever, Jack by Natasha Boyd
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Eversea*glass Loving Stars

The first book in this series Eversea was a total surprise punch to the junk book for me. (That's a good thing) I wasn't expecting much because I honestly started reading it because I loved the cover. One page in and I was hooked. I wanted to know Keri Ann, Jack, hell I even wanted to know more about Hector in the diner's kitchen. Ms. Boyd has a simple yet intricate way of weaving a story that is so engaging and reads so clearly that you seriously get lost in it. So let me tell you how it went when I got to the end of Eversea. First, I checked if there was a Book 2 (never learn should have done that first), YES, we have a book 2 but no cover (not a great sign of it being close to done), then the stalking of Ms. Boyd began. Did I schedule into my phone bi-weekly check on release dates? Um, perhaps. Where you may say stalk..I like to go with encourage!

 photo hollywood-sign_zpsefc84cf7.jpg

"Let's start with something I never told you before. I, Jack Eversea, am...utterly in...love...with you,"

Cheers and clinks glasses, right? Wrong..this is a proclamation made towards the very beginning and let us say that it didn't go as smoothly as both parties may have wanted. You cut back into their lives with some time accumulating between them. Time that hasn't been spent wisely and images that set the tone for..wait for it..angst!

"The thing about pain, whether physical or emotional, is there's no running away. You can't escape it and you can't hide from it."

5 months have passed and Jack is ready to come a reclaim the woman that showed him what truth and love truly mean. He has done all that he had to do to escape the fabricated life he has come to despise. Loving his craft is becoming the hardship when it comes with such a false sense of himself. Everyone around Jack has always been there to simply get something for themselves. The actuality of Keri Ann simply wanting nothing but Jack for the simple fact that she loves him. She doesn't want his money, his fame or anything that comes along with that. I think that was the trigger for him to fall so fast and so hard for this sweet, innocently real girl.

"How did I have the power to make someone like Jack Eversea so vulnerable?"

 photo heartatbeach_zpsbdf0aeff.jpg

Keri Ann used the time apart to start repairing not only her home but her future. Working on her projects and being part of some gallery shows, enrolling and getting into a design school. Things were going her way and she isn't willing to get back on the Eversea Express with destination heartbreak so clearly written before her. If the future she wants is actually in the stars, that future will need to be worked hard for. Keri Ann in her wholesomeness, was also a fighter and I bonded with her immediately. The bonds she shared with her family and friends and the certainty she lived her life by, makes you want the best for her.

"This could be the best non-kiss in the history of non-kisses."

"I pursed my lips, inhaling deeply through my nose. My chest began a deep steady thump, and I wanted to close my eyes and just revel in the feeling of his fingertips on me."

 photo butterfly-quote-for-orkut-stomach-meet-butterflies_zpsab4308a6.jpg

I included these quotes to really drive home the fact that when an author draws me in, I get so immersed that in just reading these simple gestures I physically react. Butterflies, nervous knots in my stomach and a feeling of impending doom were just a couple of emotions I felt throughout this book. There may have been a couple of panty changes as well, Jack is hot! I love me a romance and all the fixings that go with that, but the simplicity of true love that can evoke even the hardest of hearts are hands down my favorite.

"He's sweet and everything, but honestly, my most important erogenous zone is my mind.

I am hoping to learn more about the supporting players in this story. I would love to get the scoop on Joey and Jazz, Colt and Karina hell even what is happening with Paulie, Brenda and Hector. Crossing fingers for spin offs that of course give me an extra peek at Jack and Keri Ann..squeals!

 photo RedSeaGlass_zps5c2d4ecb.jpg

I feel in finding this story I found the elusive red sea glass that I will treasure always. That being said, Ms. Boyd did a fantastic job of keeping your mind committed to the story and gave a love story that will stay with me forever, Jack.

Arc kindly received by author (after slight begging and trying to barter 4 kids) in exchange for an honest review..review will also be posted on www.sizzlingpages.com
