DARK – STANDALONE – EROTIC - DUAL POV
These words
sold me on this book..but then I saw the cover and I was chomping at the bits
to dig into this book and it did not disappoint!
I want to
start by saying wow and kudos to Leighton Del Mia for an outstanding debut
novel. The writing was engaging and the
switching point of view from Calvin to Cataline was flawless, in my humble
opinion. Explanations and build up of
the characters was done in a way that you weren’t flogged with info and the
angst and the “what the fuck” moments really slapped ya in the head.. This book is not for everyone, the situation
that Cataline is thrust into is not one of roses and poems, it is dirty, grimy
and down right brutal at times.
Vigilante,
super-hero, capture, and town hero, all words used to describe said man,
gentle, loving and gracious host, not so much.
Cataline is shown kindness by the staff and others but isn’t privy to
the answers or the why for her captivity.
Taken, stripped and left completely unknowing changes a person and the
changes take her to new depths of what real is.
