Racer by Katy Evans
Like father, like son. So many similarities within these two men, but differences that make Racer's story his own. A beautiful, blue eyed man, with demons he struggles to keep at bay daily. A love he is struck by out of nowhere, that he has to fight against himself in order to find his fairy tale ending.
Speed, recklessness, adrenaline and an assertiveness that has you checking your temperature throughout this story. A Tate that knows what he wants and won't take no for an answer. Check please.
Katy Evans is a master at writing a possessive love story, that makes you want for the characters without taking away who each is. This story was more about loving someone for all of them, finding your person and family. Catching up with everyone was a complete bonus track for me. Racer was so reminiscent of Remy it had me ready for a re-read.

How To Date A Douchebag: The Learning Hours by Sara Ney
This review will be quick and spoiler free. The pressure to do so has kept this cursor blinking on an empty document for far too long. What we have here is a book that I loved and wanted to strangle all at once. The writing was on point. As always. The back ground characters were super douches, hence the name. My issue was (staying as vague as possible) was the lack of something important for me as a reader. What was this? An air about the character that was missing to the point of frustration. Did I end up falling for said character, yes. Did it take me longer than usual? Yes. About 50% ish in to this one, I started to really connect to everyone involved.
As with all Sara Ney stories you are served up laughter, a touch of angst, and an addicting story to the end. One of my most anticipated reads of the year.
Hoping to revisit this review later to fill in the blanks after all the spoiler reviewers have ruined it for others. LOL

Scandalous by L.J. Shen
"He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen."
I am eighteen."
These words can sometime deter me from connecting with not only the characters but their overall relationship. This book blew that theory right out of the GD water. Edie is everything I love in a female. Resilient, compassionate, loyal, real, strong and has more love in her than she even knows what to do with. She finds the broken in people and fights to be the reason they want to be whole again. Loving them despite of it and because of it. Her fight and determination to make a bleak situation shine had me cheering her on. Her love was impenetrable. So her being 18 quickly fell to the wayside, she had seen more injustice in those years than most see in a lifetime.
Now on to Trent, "The Mute", the single dad, the fighter, the poor kid, of a different race, so many different "tags" to attach to one man. One that isn't mentioned is friend, fighter, and overall amazing man that has all this love to give and isn't sure how what to do with it. Wanting for his daughter, but completely clueless on how to make it all happen. He is willing to do anything for happiness. Maybe even his own.
I have loved every single book LJ Shen has written. She has a powerful way with words. Making you love to hate and hate to love, taking you outside of a comfort zone that you thought was a great place to stay. She evokes every emotion in this story. You seethe with hatred for injustices and people, you cheer with happiness when a simple smile is directed at the right person at the right time, she made age seem impervious, and she did it all with words. This book slays. It repairs. It's amazing.

Dear Bridget, I Want You by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland
A hot doctor, an ass, a hook and an accent? How can you go wrong? Penelope and Vi always keep me entertained. I know they will bring heart, love and a little laughter with their stories. A wrench in the HEA we are so desperate to find. But this one had a little something something that I fell head over heels in love with. Letters. Hot, uninhibited truths from both Simon and Bridget that had me fanning myself and so turned on I wished the hubs was home for a servicing. TMI? Probably but the letters were so honest and raw it drew me closer to both characters on a different level. Not a mom and a roommate but a woman and a man she craved.
The dynamics of this one were pretty true to what you expect. But the way they handled themselves in their relationship and overall life had me cheering for them both to end ahead of the game. Enjoyed.

REVIEW DISCLAIMER
Book bestie is not played by my actual book bestie because her return texts would have been VERY different and ended in a Craigslist ad to replace me. LOL
Macon by Marie James
Scrolling through Facebook and seeing a post about angsty college stories had me stopping in my tracks. What? Angsty, college romance?? Where do I click? Further research had me finding the book in question was Macon. Sign up comes in email..Fate? I think so.
That is how I was introduced to this one. I haven't read this author before, but I will be reading her in the future. I enjoyed this one. The good church girl, the local bad boy country star...a connection that can't be drank away. Add miscommunication, sprinkle in some angst and bad choices and you have an addicting read for me. I was pulling for these two crazy kids and wanted for them to figure out how much they truly meant to each other. Love is always best when it isn't being looked for but slams into you anyways.
Frustrating, swoony, with some hot ass bedroom adventures sprinkled throughout, await you in this college age read.
