I didn't think it could get better than Derek and Ginger..but then I met Daniel and Story! And even though I still my love book one hard I think I may love this book harder.. Why? You may be asking yourself? Well let me lay down my knowledge and reasoning for this.. Daniel is a troubled, dirty talking, bad boy with a past that has him thinking he is not good enough..yeah my CRACK! If we would have thrown in a kid or a puppy I would have been fucking a goner.. But it didn't stop there..oh no there was Story. She was a smart ass turned Doctor arm candy who had lost herself trying desperately to make others happy and had completely failed herself..

"She couldn't deny his magnetism. The guarantee of satisfaction practically radiated from him."

The story starts in a seafood restaurant where Story is being let down by her fiance even though the wedding is only 2 weeks away. She is drowning in her own inner thoughts when she is snapped back to reality by his confession. Her departure from that situation made me an instant fan. While leaving Story takes a phone call that will alter the world as she knows it..



Landing in New York to care for her non-existent in her life, NYPD hostage negotiating father, she meets a handsome man in the lobby. He brings a feeling of want and desire she has never experienced, thinking that it was a fluke..she was surprised to see this is her father's protege! Surprised? No..but the instant banter and quips from both had me instantly sold..

""The things I want to do to you, Story, would take a lot longer than sixty seconds. Your phone's battery would die well before I finished."

Story tried to stay away from Daniel and Daniel feeling like he could never amount to what she deserved tried to do the same..enter angst! MMMMMM..did I say MMMMM I <3 angst..
                                 

Story had spunk and wouldn't ever give her power away again. Coming to grips that a man she had met days ago was evoking more emotions than a man she had been planning on marrying, didn't sit well. Made her question if what was in front of her was real?

"Oh, and just so you know, I am going out tonight. It will be after dark. And if you have a problem with that, you can kiss my perfectly palm-sized ass."

                       

Daniel's fears stem from not being able to shake his past and the feeling of wanting to stay and getting the same from someone else. He grew up in foster care bouncing from one unstable situation to the next and his career had found him at too young of an age.. Not ever experiencing love, trust and the all enveloping feeling of complete surrender.

"Belong to me, Story. Even if it's just for a little while."

Loving this series and the way you can kind of gauge what and whose story is or may be coming up. I only wish I was catching a glimpse back to Derek and Ginger, but I read on..next up Brent and Hayden! Already have enjoyed them both as supporting casts..swoon!

5 Holy Hot Fuck Me Stars

I am never disappointed when Tara says read this book. And I can't possibly read fast enough because she says book 4 has an alpha that makes all these guys look like boys.. I am seriously sweating with anticipation!

At the very start of this book I fell in love with Ginger. Her moral compass was strong even when she was raised by the very opposite of what she stood for. A choice was made and a life was found! In every choice we do make comes with a consequence. The upside was meeting her hot, cop neighbor, Derek Tyler. The downfall was the money she took was previously needed by a drug lord, pimp, and downright bad dude. I say the good out weighs the bad!

                          

Derek is a straight talking, non emotional tough guy that doesn't normally get affected by much. So he was completely knocked off his rocker when Ginger and her sister Willa blow in like a storm and take over his every thought. He is well aware that Ginger is tough and looks into her background to see what could have made her the way she is. In doing so he is prepared to make her his and protect her with everything he is.

"Let me be clear, Ginger, since you insist on talking in circles. i want you underneath me in my bed. I want to be buried inside you so deep that I have to remind you of your own name. And I want those motherfuckers leering at you from the other side of the bar to smell me on you for a week afterward."

Did I mention he doesn't mince words. He lets you know what he wants, when he wants it and will spank an ass if he needs to..fucking swoon!

                                 

A hot alpha male that is completely bowled over by a girl and then takes it upon himself to protect not only her but her little sister. Best alpha ever! MMMMMM..So a love story is in the making but not without the needed angst and girl in trouble that keeps you riveted and begging for more. I am loving this author and can't wait to dive into book two and the rest of the series..

Just what I needed..coulda used pierced junk..but? Full review to follow..

I can always appreciate a book for what I get out of it. At the moment I needed a tattooed, pierced bad boy looking, but sweet and loyal boy like I needed my next breath. So thank you Jake Green for giving me what I needed..I would have said exactly what I needed but the foreshadowing of pierced junk to NOT having it..was a let down, I gotta be honest..

"Down there? No, actually. I was referring to your fear of everything, Nina, but now I believe you might be referring to whether or not my cock is pierced." grrr


                        


Anxiety, fear and phobias..being a woman, mother and a generally freaked out person, I know how gripping these things can be. How one second of time can change your entire outlook on life and a place that once held comfort can hold the exact opposite. Nina's fears may have some feeling she was a weak minded female, I am not one of those people. A traumatic experience or loss of a loved one can instill a gripping uneasiness that can alter the way you once were. Nina may have had these fears and anxieties but the fact that she moved to an unknown city to start her education towards nursing, shows that she started her journey stronger than she even knew she was.


"And those butterflies in my stomach? They were dead from exhaustion" Nina

               

Jake..you hear him before you even see him. His life is one of outside ruggedness and inside genius and loyal to a complete fault. He gives an impression of one ideal while living a complete opposite existence. He works in the city as an engineer and every Friday takes off to Boston to deal with whatever commitment he has. Keeping it all to himself and never explaining what is behind the door marked Boston.. Jake meets Nina and knows that this girl needs to break out of her shell and live..he sees the strength in her that she can't. So through tutoring and a bet, Jake starts to chip away the exterior unease and finds that he is undone himself.

"My heart hasn't beat the same since I laid eyes on you, Nina. Ever since that day, my entire life has been about doing everything in my power not to want you like this..because I don't want to drag you into my fucked up life."

               

You know there is a secret that Jake is keeping, I usually am a bit quicker on the uptake but I can't say I didn't see it coming. Just once it came I was completely sunk into Jake and Nina and didn't want to add the tugboat.. For me Jake was pure perfection, I loved his strength, devotion and reliability. He was a best friend, lover and protector. My favorite type of lead..and add tatts and bad boy accoutrements..SOLD!

"But despite doing what I thought was right, I want you more everyday, more than I fucking want to breathe." Jake

I didn't read Gemini which I hear is a companion novel to this. I will get to that book because I really enjoyed the angst, well written in my humble opinion. I had not hid and snuck in a reading session at work in awhile and did with this one.
